Co-Founder, Bolo Bhi
Farieha Aziz is an APNS-award-winning journalist and teacher. She is also the Co-Founder of Bolo Bhi, a digital rights and civil liberties group. She monitors cases under the cybercrime law and assists with the defense of those charged under it. Farieha is a recipient of the People’s Choice Award for Woman of the Year 2016 by the LADIESFUND for her efforts to get YouTube unblocked. She was also recognized by Access Now as a hero for challenging government censorship in 2015. In 2016, Farieha was selected as one of the 10 Youth Champions of Pakistan by the Young Parliamentarians Forum of The National Assembly of Pakistan.
Farieha contributes articles to Dawn, The Express Tribune, Aurora, and Newsline. She also frequently participates in and moderates open-to-public discussions on free expression, digital safety, cybercrime law, sexual harassment, and violence against women. She regularly conducts digital safety training, and awareness-raising sessions on what to be wary of in cybercrime law and sexual harassment. In collaboration with other experts and students, Farieha developed an anti-harassment policy for educational institutes. She also provides assistance to women seeking legal recourse against harassment and gender-based violence.
