Aly El Shalakany is serial investor, writer and former lawyer. Aly is currently a Venture Partner with A-typical Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm in Qatar backed by QIA that invests across the Middle East.
Prior to joining A-typical Ventures, Aly was the Managing Director for Egypt and North Africa at 54 Collective, Africa’s most active, hands-on, early-stage venture capital investor, the Managing Partner of Acasia Ventures, a venture capital firm that invests in early stage tech and tech enabled startups in the Middle East and Africa, as well as the cofounder of the Acasia Group (formerly the Cairo Angels), one the leading startup support and enabling organizations in the Middle East and Africa. Aly is also a Founding Partner and member of the Investment Committee of Saudi Angel Investors, an angel fund that invests in startups in Saudi Arabia.
