Asad J. Malik

Asad J. Malik is the founder and CEO of Los Angeles-based Augmented Reality gaming company JADU. The company has raised $40M+ from investors like General Catalyst and Bain Capital to pioneer consumer use cases for mobile AR. He will be coming back to Pakistan for the first time in 6 years to attend +92Disrupt and visit his family.

Asad started his career in technology as a teenager growing up in Khewra, the small town known for its salt mines. He moved to the US in 2015 on a scholarship to Bennington College where he started creating narrative experiences on AR headsets like the Microsoft Hololens & Magic Leap. His breakout project, Terminal 3, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2018 followed by A Jester’s Tale at the Sundance 2019. His work has been lauded for opening up new possibilities for the medium, earning critical acclaim in publications such as the New York Times, The Guardian and Fast Company.

He has collaborated with icons like Serena Williams, Michael Bay, Snoop Dogg, Lewis Hamiliton and Grimes, raising the profile of AR as an emerging entertainment format. Asad was named one of Variety’s 10 Innovators to Watch, Rolling Stone’s Future 25 and Forbes’ 30 Under 30. He also serves as a Board Member of the American Pakistan Foundation.
