Omer Zabit

Omer Zabit is the Head of Investments and Principal with Shorooq Partners, leading their initiatives across UAE, Pakistan, and other frontier markets like Turkey & Bangladesh. He is also actively involved in managing portfolio companies while driving the sourcing initiatives across the wider MENAP region.

Before joining Shorooq Partners, Omer worked at Careem, where he was the global Head of the Food Delivery Initiative. Omer’s expertise in strategy, operations, and market development is derived from directly contributing to Careem’s growth across various markets & business-lines. Prior to joining Careem, he led product & strategy functions at the prominent mobile money players, Jazzcash and Easypaisa. He began his career with IBM, consulting their clients on technical projects across banking, energy, and agricultural sectors.
